Our last day of the school year really was an adventure! We had a brilliant time at the Australian National Maritime Museum http://www.anmm.gov.au/. Unfortunately the photos are not very good quality but hopefully you get some idea of the fun we had. Thank you so much to Miss Greatz, Mrs McArthur and Mr Gray for organising such a fun excursion, and to our ANMM educator, John, who really brought the exhibitions to life for us. I'm definitely planning a return trip these holidays.

The students were very excited to find a pair of fairy/dragon/elf boots in our classroom this morning. It took us a while to find Robert Reindeer, he was hiding in a Santa sack Congratulations to this week's award winners, Coen and Sophie, for your determined effort to improve your writing! I was so impressed by 1/2T today as they celebrated some wonderful achievements at our end of year presentation day. Hats off to everybody (including parents and siblings!) who managed nearly two hours in the hall on a steamy December day. When I stood on the stage to present the awards to a few students, I really was overwhelmed by the enormous achievements of EVERYONE in our class and what a privilege it is to be in the classroom with your children every day, they are so talented, dedicated, enthusiastic, kind, caring, resilient and inspirational! So congratulations to every child in 1/2T and the progress you have made this year! And in particular, acknowledgement of Keeley, Freya, Elliot, Belle, Aneka, Ali, Alex, Anesita and Georgie. The Year 6 Fair was a great success and everyone seemed to have a LOT of fun!! Thank you to everyone who donated to the cake stall, there were so many delicious contributions😊🎂🍪🍰🍬 We finished off a very exciting Friday in the garden painting our tyres for our tiered strawberry patch. It was great fun and brilliant to see the students so involved in the ongoing creation of our beautiful outdoor space. Next we will arrange the tyres and fill them with soil, ready to plant. We also picked some tomatoes and noticed our eggplants are growing well too. |
Rebecca ThomsonI come to teaching later in life with all the enthusiasm and passion it takes to complete a degree while parenting and working part time. I was lucky enough to complete my internship with Skye Surrest on Stage 3 in 2013 and am now loving my third year teaching a Stage One class at Brookvale Public School. Brookvale is a very special school. The staff are amazing, incredibly dedicated, kind and supportive... But most of all, I love the students! 1/2T are such a wonderful class and I adore teaching and learning with them every single day! Blogs I follow
